"Error"Code#39 After installing Daemon Tools Light (DvD/CD rw either missing or driver not found)

Hokay so heres the problem :emotion-8:: After installing Daemon Tools and creating a Virtual Drive I noticed that my CD and DvD drives were reciving an "Error"Code#39.

1. I followed the steps on deleting the registry errors:

Locate the UpperFilters value under the following key in the registry:
Locate the LowerFilters value under the same key in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

To which (After restarting my computer) The drivers should reinstall themselves; no such luck. :emotion-9:

2. After which i tried installing a firmware update j8win103us to my GCE 8483B CD-RW.

After a few failed attempts and restarts i canceled the firmware mid-process (Big Mistake); upon next restart

This completely made my GCE-RW disappear and seems to give my computer new problems during boot sequence.

3. So now as it stands currently i have a Code#39 for my NEC DvD RW  ND-3450a,

a missing GCE 8483B CD-RW (causing a nasty boot sequence), and I still have the Virtual Drive-G left by Daemon Tools (to which) I'm not certain what

action I should take.  I did notice however that Drive G:/Properties/Hardware had NEC ND-3450a listed as a DvD RW.

Hi, Myriadgrey:

My suggestion would be to pull your CD-RW drive out and just use your DVD burner, since it can burn both DVD and CD discs.

The code 39 error can only be fixed by deleting the filters. It seems you are already familiar with that procedure.

Sorry, but I can't offer any help with Daemon Tools, apart from suggesting you not use it.
