EXTENDED DIAGNOSTICS TEST Failures at certain blocks?
What does this mean - bad sectors that can be fixed? I had previously posted in Windows thread that we cannot start up Windows due to a blue screen. Now, I'd like to know what the results of the diagnostics mean. It has to do with the HDD correct? Yes, there is a possibility the HDD is failing or may fail soon and perhaps should get a new HDD. BUT right now I'd like to know if # 1 there is anyway to gain a little more working life out of it or # 2, possibly access the data to backup/transfer.

If there is data on the drive you need, mount the drive in an external case, attach it to a working system by USB and see what you can copy.
