quess what bothers me about your computer, is why the optical drive is not found,,,allmost sounds like the idie controller had gone bad.
replace your hard drive and see what happens,,,buy a cheap one somewhere or borrow one from someone...also make sure your setup settings are correct... might try to set your setup to default or optimal settings..... that worked once for me....not sure about your bios what you can do with it

Reseat both drives. On this model, if the hard drive fails, you will not see the optical drive - the two share a controller.

One of the two drives - the optical or the hard drive - is toast.
The more likely one to have failed is the hard drive.

From your description, your hard drive is toast. The optical drive is a slave to it, so when the hard drive fails, the optical drive disappears as well.
Replace the hard drive with a new one and be sure you transfer the blade connector from the back of the original to the pins of the new one.
Then your optical drive will appear once again so you can use it to load Windows.

There's a black strip over the pins on the back of the drive - remove it and transfer it to the pins of the new drive. Pulls straight off - be careful doing this as the pins underneath are flimsy and easily bent.
