Failure to boot, blue screen and/or reboot while loading Windows

For any and all Dell Laptops that have trouble booting (or even complete failure) either to a "inaccessible_boot_device", "unmountable_boot_volume", etc error:

The hard drive needs to have chkdsk /f or something similar performed on it.

If that fails, then the hard drive is completely shot.

Sometimes you can try removing and reinserting the hard drive, and that can allow you to boot back into windows, allowing you to run chkdsk /f.

Despite various versions and model numbers, any problem that displays messages similar to the messages at the top is the same problem.  So just because your model is not listed, does not mean the information does not apply.  Hopefully that last bit will make your search for solutions go somewhat faster.

Best of luck.
