FINALY, THEY GET IT!!!!

Well if you've seen any of the posts I've put up here over the last 13 months you know that I had an ongoing problem with computer crashes. Told them the week after I got the XPS400 that there was a hard drive problem, but they knew better. This past Thursday night I had a crash again and called tech support. I've been lucky the last few times and got someone that spoke english!!! Yippee!! he did 2 procedures on my system, 1st one that everyone always did that showed no problem and a second that was to verify the 1st. SURPRISE!! SURPRISE!! 10 seconds into the 2nd procedure, sure enough bad hard drive. Gee I was right all along. new hard drive arrived friday morning and so far so good. To bad I had to put up with the poor tech support for so long.

had some problems with the install of Windows and had a tech guy (english speaking from USA) talking with me for over an hour and a half. His supervisor complained about how long he was taking, he told him if he didn't like it to fire him that he was helping a customer that should have got the right help long ago. I would have said something different to the supervisor, but this is a family forum so I can't use that kind of language.

Now maybe I can enjoy my 1400 dollar system.

Glad to see you got everything sorted out :) I just received my replacement Dell XPS 700 system today because my original one decided to fail for some reason that we could never figure out and after many technical support calls, customer care calls, and speaking with a member of the Dell Customer Advocate team I finally got the whole thing straightened out. More than happy with my system, runs like a dream! :)

I just don't understand it... why don't they check the system before they ship it...i've heard so many complaints about people getting their system and from the 2nd they open the box, it starts...
I don't understand them...I really don't..no wonder HP beat dell...

In sales, maybe. If anything, in reliability, HP/Compaq is the worst one out there.

This is part of the reason I buy from the Outlet. Every computer sold from there is fully tested first. I have not had these types of issues with a refurb.

Well I'll never buy another dell product and if anyone asks I'll tell them the truth, junk computers and the worst tech service you can find. So far so good with the new hard drive, but why should I have had to put up with this for 13 months?
