Hard Disk Partition C:// has very less space.....

I have a Dell Studio 1558. My HDD size is 500GB. I don't know how partition C:// shrinked! Hopefully, I have all my data, but partition C:// is so small that I always need to remove programs and apps from my PC.

Local Disk (C://) has 8.41 GB free of 48.7 GB

Local Disk (D://) has 240 GB free of 416 GB

I just want to transfer the empty space of D:// to C:// without any loss of data. Can this be done? :emotion-40:

Sorry, but that is not what was shown in the image you posted earlier.

Obviously, one option is to perform a clean installation of the OS and create partitions the way you would prefer to have them. I've got a link to Natakuc's clean install guides below.

Hi Alcatraz99,

It appears your hard drive is partitioned into a C system partition of about 50GB, and a D partition of about 450GB. My suggestion would be to move as many applications and files as you can from C to D. That should create plenty of space on the C drive.

Good luck!

The C:// drive is only filled with my system drivers. The rest of the apps have been deleted. Before, I had only 300 MB left in my C://, but I managed to increase its space....

When I bought my laptop, the C:// and the D:// were exactly partitioned to the same volume (i.e. C:// had 232.4 GB and D:// had 232.3 GB)

*Just a difference of 100 MB.....

Will this delete all my files and all the drivers that I had downloaded to my PC?

Yes, you will need to back up all of your files.

HI,  you can use AOMEI Partition Assistant to allocate free space from d to C without data loss. This tool is free and the process is so simple. You can download it from CNET or PCWord. download.cnet.com/.../3000-18512_4-75118871.html

you can also see how to do it through this artilce: www.extend-partition.com/.../allocate-free-space.html
