hard drive conections
I got a new dell dimension 4700 after the mother board in my dimension 4300 died. The 4700 has the SATA connection for the hard drive where the 4300 had the IDE connection. Both are 40gb hard drives. My question is , is there an adapter out there that would allow me to hook up my old hard drive to my new computer, not for good but to retrieve some old information, And if there is, is there any thing I need to look for or be aware of before I go screwing up the new computer! Thanks Dave

if it were me id buy an external drive case that will let you go usb.
adstech.com is a company that makes them. ive seen them from $30 to $60.
you can transfer the info you want............and have an external drive.
