Hard drive corrupted - Getting message Loading PBR for descriptor 2 .. done

I have a Dell inspiron 600m. I was watching a sports event via mms link provided to me. I was watching the sports events withiout any issues for few days. last week while the stream was playing on the windows media player, suddenly I got a blue screen error and then when I tried to restart my system, I got a error  loading PBR for descriptor 2 ..done. and then Winows XP did not load..I was just getting blue screen error. Finally I found out that my hard drive had failed.

Could my hard disk have failed because of the mms link which I watching on Windows media player. I used the same link to watch the sport event in my office laptop..Dell latitude and was able to watch without issues for couple of days. But today suddenly I got a blue screen error while watching the link in WMP and as expected the hard disk failed again. I suspect the mms link could have caused the problem but I am not sure about that. Is there a possibility to have a hard disk failure because of this. I am really confused because both my laptops got the hard disk failed.

Please help me .

Thanks

No, the failure isn't connected to what you were doing at the time. Is the system running very hot? If it is, THAT can kill a hard drive.

Thanks for your reply.

One of laptop was running hot and that could ahve caused the hard drive failure.
But the next laptop was not running hot.. It was on for around 1 hour and suddenly while watching the stream , I got a error stating WINDOWS HARD ERROR and then I was not able to do anything .. So restarted my computer but it did not recognize the hard drive at all.

Thanks
