Hard drive crash and replace issue.
A friend of mine has a Dell latitude d830. The hard drive will not boot up, makes a clicking sound. I advised her that she may need to replace the hard drive but..... How do we get the software that needs to be installed on the new drive? The laptop did not come with a startup disk and the restore wont work because we can not get into the drive.
