hard drive error 0141 internal hard disk not found

Hi, i recently sent in my laptop for repair because my screen was cracked. I was told that if i dont want my files erased i take out my hard drive. Most of my files wern't backed up or saved anywhere else besides on my laptop, so i took out my hard drive before i sent it off for repair. So i just got my laptop in yesterday and now im having trouble with the hard drive.

problem: internal hard disk not found To resolve this issue, try to reseat the drive
No bootable devices-- strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility Press F5 to run onboard diagnostics.

so i did all three. and F1 keeps repeating the same message, and F2 doesnt get me anywhere, and F5 took me to the blue screen and the message ERROR CODE: 0141 appeared.
so i checked out the forums and read all the help i could find online, and nothing seems to be working. (reseating the drive & optical drive), & taking it out slowly and putting it in gently. i'm guessing i need to purchase myself a new hard drive, (maybe its dead) but all my stuffs are saved on there and no where else. i have a lot of pictures and videos that i need (its of my baby boy)
is there any other way i can fix my hard drive & have my laptop work?
or is there way i could transfer my files from my hard drive before i purchase and install a new one?

HELP PLEASE! :emotion-7:

When you sent in the laptop to have the screen replaced ( by the way easiest enough to have done yourself )  Was the hard drive working? could you hook up to an external monitor and have the laptop work normally?

Who did you send the laptop to for repair. Changing out a screen should have no effect on the rest of the laptop components unless they did someting very wrong.

Get a 2.5" external usb enclosure for your hard drive and hook it up to another computer to see if it works. if it does then maybe the repair people damaged your laptop replacing the screen.
