Hard drive failure
My hard drive hasent completely stopped working but when running active smart. I get an error message saying to back up my hard drive and replace it......computer is slightly over a year old.....wow why do these parts in dell computers burn out so quickly? My other hard drive I have in is the same except its from maxtor its a quantum fireball 40gig been running for 5+ years and still running strong.....first signs of my hard drive getting messed up was when I bought my dual layer dvd burner and noticed when i burned files from my main drive the buffer would fly up and down like crazy but when I would burn stuff from the slave drive the buffer stayed at constant 95%-100%. If anyone has a suggestion for me on anything I can do besides run IDE diagnostics....(tried that for hour and a half with dell technician)
