Hard drive not found after replacing CPU

I recently had to replace the processor on my I4100.
All works fine. Diagnostics give a pass to all BUT no hard drive is found.
I have tried reseating and had the drive checked out on another machine and it is OK.
Do I need to update the BIOS or something. Any ideas?

sounds like you may have damaged/disconnected something when you opened the laptop.

Don't think so.
I thought the same but I have a spare board and tried the CPU and HD in it with an external monitor & KB and it turned in the same result.   'No internal drive found'

if you have a cd take it out/reseat it and see what you get.

No go Boppo, the CD drive and all else works a treat.

Will even start the windows install routine untill it discovers 'no internal drive present'
