Hard Drive Rails

Does anyone know how I can get the green hard drive rails for optiplex GX270's.  Calling dell has been no help.

Thanks.

Tmgtech,

Thank you for visiting the Dell Community Forum.

Depending on which system chassis type you have, most of these systems will have spare drive rails attached on the inside wall of the case. If you need to purchase the rails you can try our Spare Parts Department. Our Spare Parts department can be reached at 800-372-3355 (M-F 7A-6P).

We have the small form factors that has no extras.  We have also called the spare part department and they could not find a part number.  Do you know where I can find a part number?

Thanks.

I think you are out of luck. I had this happen to me when I had a HDD replaced. My local parts department said the the rails come as part of the Chassie and dont have indivual parts numbers. Luckily a tech support agent sent me out a pair because the engineer messed it up.

Try sweet talking your tech suport guys.

Tmgtech,

Since the small form factor system was only designed to support one hard drive, the drive rails may not be available through Spare Parts. You try contacting them and see if they have the part # 21TUG or equivalent available; I believe this is the part number for the drive rails.

When I enter 21TUG into the Spare Parts Search it returns as a Floppy Drive Rail Assembly.  Is the description just incorrect?
