HDD Data Cable - Where to Purchase?

Question

I just purchased a Seagate 500GB 7200.9 HDD to use as a secondary storage HDD to go along with my WD 74GB Raptor. I notice only one (blue) data cable is provided to connect the primary hard drive to the system board, but was wondering where I can purchase another one to connect the secondary drive. Thanks...

If you try one of your mom and pop stores they may just give you one. Just look around everyone has them.

I was just telling you that because most Big Computer stores do not carry cables like that because there is not a big demand for them due to the fact that all new drives come with those cable. Your Mom and Pop stores has stuff like that around all the time. You will also meet some very knowledgeable people there that may be very helpful.

I needed on recently for a customer and after going to all the major stores and being told that I whould have to by a new hard drive to get one. I then stop by my local M&P computer store were they told me it was going to cost me $5 and they later decided that it was not worth it to them to even ring it up. and they just gave it to me. They now send me customers and I do the same for them. Let me know if you have better luck then I did in the big stores.:smileyhappy:

simpswr, thx for the link. I also saw that on the site earlier but didn't look hard enough to see if that was the correct one. $10 is quite steep, but if I can't get it anywhere else locally, then that will be my last resort.

Edit: Since the SATA cable from CompUSA is not available in my areat ATM, getting one from Ebay is a good idea. I assume "top" quality doesn't really matter when all your doing is hooking up the HDD to your system board.

I looked on CompUSA and Best Buy's websites and found nothing relating to SATA cables. Aojxpert, I'm not sure if there are any mom & pop computer shops around here, but I'll take a look soon. A friend at the church I go to works with computers alot so I'll also ask him if he has a spare lying around somewhere.
