Hi shilan57,

Try running the custom test on the hard drive which will help in giving more details on error message To run custom test on hard drive follow the below steps:

  1. Switch on the computer, tap F12 at dell logo to enter “One-time boot menu”.
  2. Use the up/down arrow keys to highlight “Diagnostics” and press enter.
  3. After the diagnostics is done select Custom test and select hard drive. And post back the error message. I would tell you the next course of action.

In case the test passes, follow the next steps.Check in Safe Mode with Networking. follow the below steps :

    1. Restart the computer.
    2. Keep tapping F8 on the Dell Logo Screen.
    3. Once the computer enters Advanced Boot Option, select Safe Mode with Networking.
    4. Press Enter.
    5. Check if the computer is doing the same thing in safe mode with networking.

Please post the results.

You will need to purchase a new hard drive of the same type you now have, install it and then load the operating system.  If you need further instructions, please post the system model name and number.
