HDD Failure
I am hoping someone can shed some light on my problem. I own a inspirion 7500. I recently upgraded the HD to a 30 gig. The computer ran fine for several months, long enough for the warranty to run out. What happened is the computer crashed and after wards when I power the laptop on, a message says that there is no operating system. So I reload windows 2000 and as soon as the process gets to starting windows a message then appears stating that there is no HDD detected. Make sure the hdd is pluged in. What I have done so fa is to remove the hdd and reseat it. I have removed the battery and optical drive but afterwards it still doesn't see the hdd. I'm seriously thinking about getting a new hd but need to make sure that it is in fact the hd before I do. If the hd went goes out does it loose windows as well? thanks in advance
