Hitachi 7K60 performance!
I just upgraded my Hard Drive in my Dell 8600 from a Hitachi Travelstar 30gb 4200 to a Hitachi (7k60) 60gb 7200rpm. I expected to see a nice performance boost after this upgrade, boy was I let down! I ran a speed test with HdTach and the 30gb 4200rpm HD had a Random Access of 18.6ms, Average Read was 19.9mbs and the Burst speed was 87.0mb/s. The 60gb 7200rpm HD Random Access was 23.2ms, Average Read 27.8mb/s and the Burst speed was 90.2mb/s. Is there anyway to improve the speed and performance of the Hitachi 7k60? Thanks for your time!
