Only if you add a RAID controller and have at least two drives. The 8300 has SATA onboard, but it's not RAID-capable by default.

You can set up software RAID 1 or 0 under Windows, but it's not recommended.

I think for software RAID you need Server version of Windows 2000 or 2003.   The hardware version is much better.

I have a Dell 8200. I use a Promise raid card plugged into an ide slot with two hard drives in a raid 1 array. Instructions and driver cd came with card and set up easily. Good luck

Hi I'm also trying to run my 8300 in raid 0.  I have 2 new blank identical harddrive and I want to take out my current drives by replacing the 2 new ones with raid.  I want to do a hardware raid and Im not sure how to do this.  I read in other forums that I needed a boot disc for the raid controller to work before it install windows xp.  I looked into my device manager and found a

SCSI RAID Controller listed a under this
        D344PRT SCSI Controller
        NERO IMAGEDRIVER SCSI Controller
        XMASSCSI SCSI Controller

these came with the dell I order and I would like to know if I can successfully do a raid 0 using these or do I need to buy a seperate pci card.  I have tried to look for the driver on the dell site but can't find any for IDE RAID.  If anyone can help me or give me instructions on how to set this up post it here.  Thanks.
