I cannot install the Intel Matrix Storage Manager

Hello,

I downloaded the recommended update (version A08) for the "Intel Matrix Storage Manager" for my system.
My system is :
- Dimension E520 - DM061
- Windows Vista 32-bit English

And my problem is that during the install of the update, I am told that my machine does not meet the minimum requirements etc ...

Is there a good soul who is able to help me please ?
Thanks

Do you have a RAID array?

If you don't then you don't need it.

Unless you're running a RAID array, you don't need this update anyhow.  Dell does not clearly state that on their drivers & downloads site.  Also, I found out from Dell tech support that the updated driver has glitches when used with XP, and there is no patch available.  The reason why the driver is installed/offered on E520s in the first place is that RAID was available on any E520 from the factory.

As for me, I was getting some weird BSODs when playing games, and after doing some research, I tracked it back to the Matrix Storage Manager.  Since the driver(s) can't be uninstalled, I disabled the software from starting using msconfig, and I haven't had the BSODs since then.  I'm not running any sort of RAID setup, so it was unnecessary anyhow.

Thanks for the answers.
I give up trying, it looks like I am better off without it :smileyhappy:
