Inaccessible boot device

Question

Hello we have a Optiplex GX280 that keeps coming up with 'inaccessible boot' device when going into Windows 2000. It does the same in Safe mode as well. Are there any BIOS settings that I could check, the cabling inside all seem okay and I have the Dell hard drive tests from the Resource CD and they all passed.

Repair Windows. No avail. Reload Windows.

I tried a re-install of Windows 2000 and this didn't solve it. However on the off chance the PC did happen to go into Windows and I was able to install the Recovery Console. I was then able to boot into recovery mode and I ran a chkdsk and fixboot. So far it seems to have fixed it.
