Incompassitated DVD+R/RW CDRW

I had some problems and had to reformat my hard drive and reinstall windows with the help of Dell support a while back. Everything went well except my DVD+R/RW CDRW no longer reads my CDRWs that I already wrote and I can no longer write new CDRWs or DVDs. I installed the newest firmware for my NEC DVD+RW ND-1100a but that did not help. Is there anything else I can try?

Hi Otto,

I am assuming the Dell Tech had you install the Intel Chipset drivers. You also reinstalled your burning software, Roxio or Sonic, correct?
You should at least be able to use XP built-in program to burn CD-R & CD-RW, click on the CD/RW link in my post and scroll to Section 100, article 27.

Best Regards!

God, grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway,
the good fortune to run into the ones I do and the eyesight to tell the
difference.

Thanks Jeff.

I have bookmarked the section you referred me to and will look at it in detail when I get some time.
