Incomplete DVD burns
Hi I have a Dimension 4600 with a _NEC DVD+RW ND-3100AD. Recently my Sonic Record Now has been burning incomplete DVDs though it says that the burn was complete. You can visually see that the DVDs are partially burned and they will not play. Could someone help? TIA.

Hi Hawaii,
Check the vendors site for a possible update / patch for your burning software.
Then check for a Dell firmware update for the drive as well. Hover your mouse over the Product Support Tab above, click on Downloads link, enter information for your system, then scroll to Removable Media Storage Devices.

Thanks Predator.
I did get an update from the vendor even though the program came with my Dell (did this a while back). However, the Dell site does not have a listing for my DVD Burner under the Removable Media Storage Devices area using the my Service Tag. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.

My apologies Hawaii, I was fairly sure Dell had a firmware update for this drive in the past. I wonder if they pulled it or I`m off my rocker ..lol !!
I have to bowl tonight but will do some checking later, may I ask, is the drive still under warranty?

PS: just to cover the software issue, I believe Nero is still offering their trail version, you might consider giving it a try, do not download their Packet Writing program, InCD.
