Inspiron 2650 Operating System Error
I receive the following message below when attempting to start up my lap top. It takes about 4 times of powering off and on to start up.
What steps can I attempt to correct? or Is the hard drive failing?
This is the message I receive:
"Initializing MBA, Press Ctrl Alt B to configure" then
"Managing PC Boot Agent" then
"Operating System Not Found"

Managed PC Boot Agent (MBA) Software - The MBA software allows the PC to boot from the server rather than from its local hard drive. I do not know which NIC card you have but here is some instructions on how to disable the MBA (if you should)
Enabling or Disabling the Boot ROM Setting
To enable or disable the boot ROM setting on the NIC:
1 Make sure that the NIC is installed and is connected to the network and that the
driver is installed.
2 Open the Windows Start menu.
3 Select Programs, and then 3Com NIC Utilities.
4 Click 3Com NIC Doctor.
The 3Com NIC Diagnostics General screen appears.
5 Click the Configuration tab.
The Configuration screen appears.
6 Under Network Parameter, select Boot PROM.
7 Open the Set Value list box and select Enabled to enable the boot ROM or Disabled to
disable the boot ROM.
8 Click OK to save the setting and exit the program.
If this is a work computer that you are using at home, then you may not want to disable this.

Thanks for the information. This is a personal laptop but used for work or on a network. I am not sure what is a NIC card. I dont see any program listed for 3Com NIC Utilities. Any further assistance would be appreicated.

This is the exact same messages I'm getting on mine! I've run the diagnostics and everything passed. My laptop, however is not used for work. It is used for school and not connected to any servers. If you get this one figured out, please let me know.
Thanks
