Inspiron 8600 Refusing to eject disks

Its me again...
My computer has been refusing to eject CD's and DVD's. My father rang Dell and told them about it. They emailed me a patch, and it's helped, but hasn't fixed the problem.

Before patch:
Ordinary CD's (that programs need in to run) 60% chance of them getting stuck
Audio CD's 50% chance of them getting stuck
DVD's 99% chance of them getting stuck
Any CD's after installing something: ABSOLUTELY ALWAYS got stuck. 101% chance...

After patch:
Ordinary CD's: None have refused since patch
Audio CD's: One has stuck, four others have ejected normally
DVD's: 60% chance that I can't get it out
CD's after installation: Every single one has stuck since the patch.

I have tried everything. I've pressed F10, AltF10, CtrlF10, everything because F10 has a picture of a disk coming out on it. I've pressed the little button on the disk drive, of course. I've held it in for a minute. I've gone into My Computer, checked the drive properties, told it to eject from there. I've gone into Media Player, and gone Menu-Play-Eject Disk, with every type of CD. No results. I've done everything short of prising the drive open with a chisel.

The only thing I've found to work is to restart the computer. They always eject after restart. I don't know what to do about this irritating problem.  Can anyone help me???!!!

This is only an interim solution until you get it properly fixed, but there should be a tiny hole in the front of the drive into which you can insert the end of a paper clip to make the drive eject.

Hi
I dont know if this is the patch that Dell had given you before, but I have found this to be very useful.
