Install new hard drive

I have a Dimension 3000 and would like to replace the Hard Drive as I ahve spent two weeks trying to get the system to boot only to resort to believing the hard drive crashed. I brought a Seagate 160 GB Hard Drive, am I able to use this in a Dimension 3000 machine? And if so how do I reinstall the windows XP and pre installed programs as I do not have a system recovery disk, Thanks

In the future, by using the Advanced Forum Search on the bottom of this page, you can quite easily find the answer to this often asked question.

While the drive is fine (assuming it's a PATA, not SATA drive), you can't install anything w/o the disk since your other drive keeps crashing.  You need to contact Dell for a CD.  Any pre-installed programs that you don't have disks for will not be reinstallable.
