insufficient disk space
I am "trying" to burn a dvd. I cant though, because I have "insufficient disk space". I just dont know whats eating up all the space. I have deleted file after file and I still have only 4% free space. I have been using Roxio Video Wave Movie Creator to make my DVD movies & I have deleted most of the movies. I ran disk cleanup...
Any ideas???

miamiman,
Thank you for visiting the Dell Community Forum.
Check to make sure that you have some free space on your hard drive. Click on My Computer and then right click on the C: drive and click on properties. This will show how much free space you have. For burning a DVD, you may need up to about 4.5 GB free if the burning software needs to write an image before the burn.
Also make sure that you are not trying to burn more data on the DVD then it will hold; the max you can burn to a single layer DVD is about 4.3 GB.

I've not tried this application, Folder Sizes, but you might want to take a look - it's free! It should help identify the problem files.
EDITED: Whoops - just checked the program again and it's not free, just free download - but you do get a 15 day trial, which would be enough for you to sort your problem.
Good luck

If you are running WME or XP, check the System Restore setting, if it's set to maximum, then turn off system restore, reboot, to erase the old system restore points, then reset the size to either 4 or 5% followed by Restarting System Restore and create a new restore point.
