internal hard disk drive not found
Hi....
Problem that has come up on an Inspiron 1545 laptop.
The laptop will not boot up and comes up the error message 'internal hard disk drive not found'
I have run the F5 onboard disgnostics but this does not resolve the issue....
Any ideas pleasssssssssssssseee

Hi Gozza62,
You cannot run the on-board diagnostics, since it runs off the hard drive. In order words, you can't test the hard drive using the hard drive. Instead, boot to your Dell drivers and utilities disc and run the hard drive diagnostics. In all likelihood, your hard drive is dead, sorry to say.

If the BIOS (F2 at powerup) doesn't see the drive, reseat it (remove and reinstall it). If it's then still not found, the drive is toast.
