IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL PLEASE HELP

i am getting blue screen errors for sumtihng called IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and something like BAD_POOL_(something). i recently downloaded a nvidia updatye, but windows signer said it wouldnt work, so i hit cancel. i dovnloaded a different update and i didnt get the pop up again, so i presumed it was all right, until i got errors. when i restart after a blue screen error it has a like to the microsoft page whick told me a driver was the cause. help!
btw it also may be a game i loaded, battle for middle earth DVD version. i have a simension 4600, xp home service pack 2, and a grforce fx 5200 video card,i think. please help

by the way my friend's computer does not have the internet gets the irql error, but not the bad pool one. please help my mom needs this computer for working on.

Hi Popwar0skate,

A search on this message brings up a number of things, from RAM, to hard-drives, modem drives, spyware, to video drivers. Considering the fact seemed to have started after trying to update the NVidia video driver, I would suggest you re-install the orignial drivers that shipped the video card and see if this corrects the problem. Then if you need more recent drivers for the card, make sure you get the correct one this time.
XP has a driver rollback feature, did you try that, it may work, just depends on what happened after you hit the cancel option the first time.
