Lost DVD and CD Drives

I am running Win XP home and originally had a DVD drive letter "D" and a CDR-RW drive letter "E". Due to a mixup while partitioning a hard drive, Drive letters "D" an "E" were assigned to partitions, thereby "losing" the DVD and CD drives (No longer appeared in "My Computer"). I have since deleted these partitions but I don't know how to restore the DVD and CD Drives. (They are still listed in Device Manager but have a yellow warning symbol.)

Hi arnie,

Going to take a stab at this, it may be the Upper & Lower Filters we have seen in the past, click on the CD/Rw link in my post and scroll to Section 12, article 10.

For other standard steps, same CD/RW link, Section 15, article 1; Section 20, article 3; Section 11, articles 2 & 1.

Best Regards

God, grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway,
the good fortune to run into the ones I do and the eyesight to tell the
difference.

Jeff (Predator)
Thank you for your prompt response.  Have printed the sections of your link and will investigate.
Perhaps you responded before I edited my original query, if so, please take another look.
Thanks again, Allen (ArnieSeagull)

Hi Allen,

I did jump the gun my friend with your blank post, should not be an issue with the Upper & Lower Filters, but the later steps hopefully will correct the problem.

Best Regards
