Lost HD Space after Formatting!

My computer is running: Vista-32bit Home Premium on a Dell Inspiron 531
Hello All,

As I am not very expertised with computers but just being an average pc-user, I've no solution for this problem.

I was having a HDspace of 650GB, it was almost full and I thought of reorganizing my space by making a backup and formatting my HD.
So I ran vista via the DVD that was given with the desktop when I bought it and then formatted my C: Partition.
This went very vast, within 5 seconds and then my whole C: partition was empty. And it has eaten aprox. 150 GB!
Starstruck!
Then I formatted my PC by using Restore Factory Image (F8>Advanced Boot Options>Restore your Computer>Restore Factory Image).
That worked, I mean it has been restored to it's factory conditions but still my 150GB is missing.

Can someone help me find the missing Gig's?

Thanks in advance,
2-SharR

P.S: Excuse me for my english.

Hi, 2-sharR:

Use Disk Management to check the size of your C partition, the size of your hard drive, and also to see if there is any unpartitioned space on the drive.

It is not necessary to format the drive prior to performing an OS restore, so I suspect you accidentally created a smaller C partition than the one you had previously. This is a rather simple matter to fix. You would use the Vista disk again to re-partition the C drive to the largest available size, and then run the OS Restore again.

It still says 455 GB and there is no unpartitioned space on this Disk Management thing.
What should I do and how should I do that?

Thanks for your reply, I really appreciate it!

It does not appear to me that your hard drive is 650GB. Can you provide the model number of your hard drive?

If you checked that model number, you'd have seen it is a 500GB drive.
