My Second HD GB not fully recognized
About a year ago I added a Maxtor 120GB HD to my Dimension 8100 and everything worked great.
I was able to partition it into D:, E: & F:
Recently, however, I had to reload Windows (ME) on my C Drive.
Now my system shows my second HD with only 23.6GB and, needless to say, none of my files on the drive are showing up.
I've upgraded to the latest BIOS available for ME.
I've also run MaxBlast in an attempt to set up the (2nd) drive and before I go to set up new partitions it states that there are current partitions, with data, that will be erased if I continue.
My question is: how can I get my computer to properly recognize my second hard drive and all the files that I KNOW are still there?

well, first, let's see if the partitoin is still intact.
Boot to your Dimension resource CD, at the A: Prompt type FDISK.
You'll get a big paragraph about large disk support, press Y. This will bring up the FDISK Main menu
Option 4 will display partition information. If your partitions are intact, you should have a primary partiton & an extended partition, & 3 virtual drives on the extended partiton.
If the extended partition is missing, then that data is gone unless you use data recovery, which can be expensive.
