my Sony DVD+-RW does burn DVD-R, but not DVD+R

my Sony DVD+-RW is ok with these:

read -> CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD+R

write -> CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R

what's the problem with DVD+R ?

Please help me!

I have the same problem and after lengthy testing, uninstalling software, re flashing the drive Dell support have said the unit needs replacing. What frustrates me is that a lot of people seem to be having the problem and I cant find out why. A real concern is that the replacement will also fail to work!

If there is no point to replace my Sony DVD+-RW,maybe it is better to keep it to burn DVD-R !?

The replacement drive Dell sent is a NEC ND 6650A and works fine. Hurray
