New Hardware Wizard detecting CDROM

I have a D630 notebook that came preloaded with Vista Ultimate. We reloaded with Window XP Pro SP2 and configured. All seemed to be OK. When I dumped the image I created from this system to another I get the New Hardware Wizard popping up continually stating Cannot Install this Hardware. There is a problem with this device CD-ROM. I click Finish and it keeps coming up. Over and over again. If I try to access the CD drive it works and I can see and access disks. This message keeps coming up. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

may be worth physically removing the drive then booting up then shut down.

reinstall the drive and see if the message reoccurs when you reboot.
