New Replacement Hard Drive for 9100... Problems...
Hi, I just got a new replacement Hard Drive for the Inspiron 9100 because the one that came with the laptop initially somehow broke. After first sending me the wrong type of hard drive, and making me pay for shipping and re-stock fee because of THEIR mistake of selling me the wrong part, I finally got the new hard drive today, and I've been having some trouble getting everything set up correctly.
First of all, my laptop is a "wide screen/multimedia" version so it doesn't have the normal screen dimensions of a typical screen, and yet the two resolution options I have are 800x600 and 1024x768.... both of these resolutions make everything on screen look distorted/"squished" and I know for a fact that with the old hard drive, it had a few more different options for resolution, more suited for the wide screen. Is this a problem that can be fixed, or is it a hard drive issue, and they sent me a part that doesn't go with my computer again?
Also, I'm having trouble configuring everything... I got a disk that is suppose to install all the drivers for everything, so would that help fix the screen issue? I'm having a lot of trouble with that as well, and it sounds like I have to connect to the internet to download the drivers, but obviously I'm not connected to the internet yet and I don't think that will work until the driver for the wireless connection is installed...
If anyone here has been through this situation before, please let me know what you did, it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
