Not recognizing CD's or DVD's
Hi all,
I have just found that my computer does not recognize cd's or dvd's. I am trying to burn them into itunes. I have restarted my computer a couple of times and no luck. I have tried to watch a dvd but no luck either. I receive no error message. The cd drive opens and closes, the light flashes then nothing. I have a Dimension E520, bought only June last year. This has only just happened within that last day or so. I was able to burn cd's into itunes about 1 week ago. I am not all that computer knowledgeable so any help would be appreciated.

Hi, bundybabe:
Please work through these standard troubleshooting steps, including the diagnostics.
By the way, I assume what you are trying to do is copy audio discs into your iTunes collection, correct? "Burn" refers to making a CD from files already on the computer. Just want to make sure we're on the same page.
