Yes there have been a few reports with issues for this drive, Many are waiting / hoping for a firmware update. For now, try a different brand of media and verify DMA enabled for the drive is all that is out there.

I am also having problems - I can't copy a DVD to this drive using Sonic RecordNow.  Every time I try I get a 'please insert a blank disc and the disc is rejected.  I can write files to this drive using windows XP, but would like to make back-up copies of a few movies I have.
