pinnacle instant cd/dvd software
Hi All!!!
Well after several attempts to get this new dvd burner up and running with Pinnacle 8 se and instant dc/dvd, I am ready to try neew software... unless someone has some great insight. Running windows2K with the required RAM and speed. The system slows and eventually crashes. Apparently I am not the only one as I see on various web sites. Anyone have experience?
Thanks

Hi Deltasig,
May I ask, was this a factory installed drive or not. If not double check the jumper settings on the drive, Dell uses Cable Select.
Also verify that you have DMA enabled as well. Click on the CD/RW link in my post and scroll to Section 15, articles 14 & 17.
Best Regards
God, grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway,
the good fortune to run into the ones I do and the eyesight to tell the
difference.

Hey Jeff
I did all that you suggested last month re cable select, enough RAM etc. I can play a dvd using WinDVD, but can seem to get this software to run without killing my system. No, I installed the I/O Magic burner. I get generic answers from pinnacle and I/O magic. won't buy their poducts again. I will look over your chapters. Is there any way to view them without the cool effects? I have seizure disorder.
Thanks

Sorry for the delay, here the site without the graphics and lists all the articles.

See if any thing there helps,
then give me a holler.
Take care,
Jeff

Hey Jeff
Thanks for the assistance:o) Guess I am just slow at all this:( I did everything I was told to do and still...UGH! it slows the system with few programs running in the background. Do you know the least required files I need from soundblaster? I read on one forum that soundblaster and nvidia have been cluprits. I have been looking furiously for patches for the I/O Magic dvd burner and for pinnacle instant cd/dvd 8.
