Power Quest error 1532
I just received 10 new Dell Precision WorkStation 370. In the pass I have used Power Quest to make an image and then applied the image to the rest of the computers. I can make the image and begin to restore the image to the new computer but then at the end I get the 1532 error “too many Clusters”. I have tired many things but noting seems to work. Could this be because of the SATA Drives? Any help would be appreciated.

I had the exact same problem imaging to some Dell Optiplex 280s. They also have SATA drives. What I did was in the advanced options of the restore image setup, I unchecked the box that reads Check for File System Errors and I still got the message but had a successful restore. It's a disparity with Powerquest and NTFS. Everything should be okay.
I also read on the net about some folks having luck with running the Deploy Center or Drive Image executable with the /ifc switch (ignore file check) or the /ire switch (ignore read errors) If you're successful you can go back and run chkdsk /f a few times to put your mind at ease.
Unfortunately, Symantec's tech support of Powerquest stuff doesn't appear to be much of an improvement. However they have sacked the whole drive image line and repalced it with Ghost. Never tried it but I've heard it's a more reliable product. Good luck and let me know if you are successful.
