Problems w/ panasonic firmware update.

According to the system config tool (original config), I have this RW installed in my 8200:
4U341 ASSEMBLY, COMPACT DISK READ WRITE, 24X, PANASONIC, OMAHA, BULK PACK

The problem is that under current system config tab, the drive shows as a TEAC CD-W224E. I tried to update w/ the current panasonic firmware, but all I get is an error stating that supported drive isn't connected.

So, if I don't have the panasonic drive, where can I find a current firmware for the TEAC drive?
If I do have the panasonic drive, how do I get it to be recognized for the firmware update?

Thanks in advance for the help.

well it looks like you have a teac drive so no amount of tinkering will allow you to update the firmware with a panasonic one.

Ok, that's one problem solved. So does anyone know where to find a fimware for the TEAC drive?

tried product support>downloads at the top left of this page?

:-) of course. I didn't find it under the Inspiron 8200 downloads, but I also haven't run a search for it yet, too busy w/ classes at school. :-(

Note: Since I couldn't seem to edit my last post, I have since searched the downloads, and there aren't any related to the TEAC drive that I have. Any suggestions on where I might be able to find a current firmware?
