Question about hard drives

Hi everyone,

I'm about to buy a new notebook but I'd like to have your opinion.
Is it worth to take a 7200 RPM hard drive? Would it be much faster? What are the disadvantages of a 7200 RPM? Would it run slower or produce more heat?

I'm very sceptical about notebooks because my current notebook is a Inspiron 5150 wich is a real volcano...

Thanks in advance!
Nicolas

Load time will be a little bit faster than the 5200rpm drive. The 7200rpm drive is known to have a high failure rate. Your best bet is a larger 5400rpm drive for the money. For gaming the hard drive speed does not matter, its the video card that determines the speed of the game. Go to Toms hardware site for a comparison of hard drives.

With the current good 5400 rpm drives out there Like the Seagates with 8mb cache I don't think you will notice the difference between them and the 7200 rpm drives.

And as posted there is a real high percentage of failures with the 7200rpm drives.
