RAID 0 configuration - Error at BIOS screen - "Error Occured"

Hi all.  My XPS Gen5 is about 13 months old (and 1 month out of warranty).  It is a RAID 0 configuration running 2 x 160GB Western Digital SATA HD's.  About a week ago I got an error message in the BIOS screen showing that the second drive is giving a message (In red lettering)  "Error Occured".  I can still boot to windows ok but I also get a RAID error message (Intel Matrix or some kind of RAID utility window) that my drive is failing an I should backup my important data (which I have with an extrernal backup HD).  I have a feeling I need to buy another Western Digitial HD and reform them and reinstall everything.  I know I can do this but my only question is that it's my understanding that I will need to "setup" the RAID 0 configuration again and I'm not sure how to do that.  I've still have all my backup restore CD's that Dell providied me.  I'm just not sure how to re-create the RAID 0 configuration and re-format the drives.  Thanks for any directions/guidance you guys can provide.

PS - sorry about the double post.

I have never done a raid pack on a Dell with the onboard raid (I always use an add in PCI raid card) so here is what I do know.

Your bios should be set to    Raid Autodetect/AHCI     or   Raid On    in the sata operation menu of the bios
When you replace the bad harddrive you will in effect break the raid pack as far as the bios is concerned, this should cause re-detection of the potential raid pack now available, and make available the raid config portion of the bios at post. If not most onboard raid utilities will have some sort of key function to access the raid config, this will be during post. Once in the config portiion you can just poke around to get the feel of the config utility, they are all different in their layout . It is usually pretty straight forward.

When I set up my Raid 0 with a promise card on a Dell 5150  I had to set both drives to "spares" before I could go any further with the config of the raid pack
Once you have the raid pack configured, windows will just see it as one big drive, so the OS install is no different from here.

Another Idea is to ghost  (image) the bad dive to the new one before it  dies, plug it up and you should be good to go.
You would need to hang the bad drive on another computer, run a image software to make the image and then copy the image to the new drive with the same program.
