Re-installing a 9150

I've just taken delivery of a Dimension 9150 and it was originally configured as a Raid 0.  I have reverted the two disks to non-raid and I need to start from scratch and install an operating system (XP Pro).

When I get to the bit of the set up where I select the drive and create the partition Setup tells me that I have 4 unknown drives with no disks in them.

Can any kind soul tell me how to install a new OS on a 9150 (with two 160gb SATA drives)

You can use the same procedures as for the D-9100

http://www.vr6.com/misc/Dell_9100_Installation.htm

Remember to install the Chipset Driver first.

D-9150  Drivers, utilities and applications downloads.

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/devices.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&SystemID=XPS/DIMENSION%20400/9150&os=WW1&osl=EN

Install only the primary hard drive and install windows XP, then when this is working to your satisfaction, then install the second hard drive and use XP's disk management to partition and format it.

Bev,

Yer directions worked like a charm. I was racking my brains out and didn't even think about looking at the bios settings until I read the link. Kuddos to you!!
