Reinstalling Windows SATA Drivers - Please Help!
I have wiped my hd on my dell dimension 5000 and need to reinstall windows, i have an sata drive and the windows install cd wont recognise it. I think i need some drivers for the sata drive, can i get them from the dell site? Can i burn them to a cd or do i need a floppy. I dont have a floppy drive....please help!

you dont need any special sata driver because sata operation is already supported by system.
try this first before you install the OS:
1) Enter the BIOS setup.
2) Use the Down-Arrow key to scroll down to Drives and press to expand this menu.
2) Scroll down to select "SATA Operation" and press to enter the menu.
3) Select "RAID Autodetect / ATA Mode."
4) Save changes and exit the BIOS.
this will set you system to autodetect any sata drive.
boot into the OS disk and reinstall the OS normally.
