Replacing the Hard Drive
I have a Dimension 4700 and my hard drive is failing. The only Hard Drives I see to buy through Dell are refurbished ones for 79.00. I can get a hard drive from a third party, but all I have is the restore disk for my Dimension 4700. What do I need to install on my new third party hard drive in order to be able to use my Dell restore disk? Thank you

Besides the Dell XP reinstallation disk, you should have a Drivers & Utilities, Modem, Resource and Applications CD's.
Order for installing drivers in Windows XP.
If you don't have the CD's, you can request them from Dell, Here or, you can download them from Here and burn them to a CD.
If you have XP Home Edition, SATA drivers not required, because the D-4700 is already confingured for SATA operation.
