Rescue data from s-ata disk

Hi,
My Dell Precision 360 died for me, prob cpu or mb and no warranty left :-(
I moved the 250GB sata disk to another totaly new computer with XPP as slave disk, but i cannot view the disk? It is in Diskmanager correct? How do I do? I really need the data on it.

Do you see the disk at all?  If you use Windows Explorer can you see the directory structure?  If so, perhaps all you need to do is take ownership of the "My Documents" folder.  For Windows XP Home you must go to Safe Mode/Adminstrator to do this.

If you can't see the directory structure you may have another problem; the administrators of many business machines create "dynamic" rather than "basic" disk volumes.  Win XP Professional can read these but Win XP Home cannot.  If this is your trouble you will need to find another machine with XP Pro installed in order to save your data.
