sata controller/driver
Hi,
I have a question about my dimension 4700. The built in hard drive is an SATA drive, yet in my device manager , I can only find reference to an Ultra-ATA or standard ATAPI controller and driver. Shouldn't there be a reference to an SATA controller and SATA drivers?

Under the controllers, there are two entries called "primary ide channel"
What I am wondering is, shouldn't the controller, as well as the drivers show up as SATA, rather than standard ATA?

I was wondering
I too installed XP without pressing f6 1st ...
.. so if i re install selecting R to repair an installation,
and i press f6 through that routine,
should i have the SATA controllers properly installed then ?
I just don't want to start from scratch... too many programs installed allready...
thanxAll
