Second HD in CD modular bay

Hello, Could someone tell me if I can fix a second HD in the CD bay, and if I just have to buy the same HD as original ? Thanks Alain

Inspiron 510m may 2004. I have a 40Gb HD and a bay with CDRW/DVD. I'd like to replace the CD by a second HD. Thanks for help

I also would like to use the CD/DVD for a hrad drive, but with a 600m.  Has anyone figured out if this does actually work?  Also, where would I find a hard drive that would fit?  Thanks.

I was reading the manual for the computer (600m) which is available online at the dell site and it does say that a secondary hard drive can be installed in the module bay which I believe is the CD\DVD drive bay.  So I suppose that it is possible with the 600m models.        What kind of hard drive would fit though?

Yes U can certainly use a secondary HDD with Insp 600m. U can call DELL sales spare parts for purchasing it.....   Amir
