Sonic record now!
ok I have a dimension 2400, Samsung DVD-ROM SD-616E, NEC DVD+-RW ND-3450A i had recently had trouble finding these drives but thanks to Skybirds patience with me, we were able to solve the prob, so everything's been working perfectly I'm able to burn, watch, not sure how to burn DVD's yet but that's for another day, so now my problem is when I got on this sonic record now! It says I have no recorder and something about attaching a drive when I go to click where it says no recorder it gives me two options no recorder and check for drives when I click on check for drives, nothing happens and it takes me back to no recorder, check for drives and that pretty much continues every time I click on check for drives.

evil.lyn,
That type of problem typically the version of CD or DVD burning software doesn't have your drive in its list of supported recorders. The common solution is to make sure you have the latest update(s) for the version of Sonic Record Now! that you're running. Updates for burning applications usually add support for new CD and DVD recorders that weren't on the market at the time the software was originally released.

Oh, OK. You've been mistaking the DSN link that's the last line of my signature for one that has to do with the RecordNow! problem you posted about. The DSN link is more for Dell-specific troubleshooting assistance. Sonic is now actually owned by Roxio so any updates for it are located on Roxio's web site. Click here to access the Roxio software update page. You'll have to know which version of RecordNow you're running to get the correct update(s).
