sonic update manager problem

Question

Hello,

I just bought a Inspiron 9400.

After de installing some correl sw that was installed for a 1 mount trial,
I have a message after each boot:

you are trying to install sonic updated manager, please insert a CD .....

To get rid of that, I had to uninstall sonic update manager.

I would like to know:

1) What is the use of sonic update manager
2) Should I re-install it, or can I check for updates myself?

I suggest you just periodically check the sonic website for updates.

i got the same problem with my dell notebook and uninstall it. then went to:

anyway i have problem that when i do the instructions at this page, i didn't see my sonic update manager on my list of programs. what can i do?

Hi Kian,

I am sorry, I don't know the answer.
Maybe you need to do run -> msconfig and see what is in your startup tasks.
if there is (not sure there is) sonic update manager, just uncheck it.
