Stop error while installing XP on new hard drive

I just installed a new Seagate Serial ATA hard drive and when I try to install Windows XP onto it after booting from the CD I get the following stop error:
STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x8081A799, 0xF795A778, 0x00000000)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
